John Lee Hooker - Boom Boom (1969)

John Lee Hooker - Boom Boom (1969)

In the early career of John Lee Hooker he recorded many songs with a guitar and a pallet that he kept timing on by tapping his foot to his unique rhythms.
Bernie Besman recorded John Lee without a back up band due to Hooker's unusual beats he used to fit his songs.
The version of Boom Boom inducted into the Blues Foundation's Hall of Fame in 2009 for Classic of Blues Recordings included back up musicians James Jamerson bass guitar and Benny Benjamin both of the Motown super session band The Funk Brothers.

Here is a live version of Boom Boom fom a France gig with some pretty important bluesmen supporting John Lee.
John Lee Hooker - guitar and vocal
Willie Dixon - bass guitar
Sunnyland Slim - piano
Johnny Shines - guitar
Clifton James - drums
